I currently teach Fifth Grade (Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies) at Saints Philip & James School. Listed below are brief descriptions of the major academic topics we will cover in class.

Grade 5

Language Arts

Students will learn how to write Personal Narratives and Opinion Essays, Subjects and Predicates, Complex Sentences, Clauses, Action Verbs, and read many different genres throughout the Wonders program.

Math

Students will learn how to understand Place Value, Rounding Decimals, Dividing Whole Numbers, Adding and Subtracting Fractions, Geometry, and Order of Operations.

Science

Students will learn about the Ecosystems and Food Web, Water Cycles and Earth’s Systems, and the Solar System.

Social Studies

Students will learn about Native Americans, States, Colonies, American Revolution, and the Civil War.

Spanish

Grade 3

Students will learn about Colors, Shapes, Numbers, Food, Months, Holidays, Greetings, and Animals.

Grade 4

Students will learn about Colors, Shapes, Numbers, Food, Holidays, Greetings, Animals, Months, and how to pray the Hail Mary in Spanish.

Grade 5

Students will learn about Colors, Shapes, Numbers, Food, Holidays, Greetings, Animals, and Months.
