Welcome to Mrs. Hunsicker's Page
I currently teach Pre-Kindergarten 3 and 4 at Saints Philip & James School.
Listed below are brief descriptions of the major academic topics we will cover in each class.
Pre-K 3
Language Arts
Name recognition, letter sounds, letter recognition, and writing uppercase letters. Children will participate in hands-on activities and make letter crafts.
Math
Children will learn counting and recognizing numbers 0-10, positional words (front, back, middle, behind, in front of etc), AB patterns, shapes, quantity (more, less), sorting by shape, size, and color.
Religion
The children learn about God's love and how He has shown his love for us. Children learn how we are all made in God's image and how we treat others. The children will learn basic prayers including The Sign of the Cross, The Our Father, The Hail Mary, The Glory Be and Prayers Before/After Meals.
Science and Social Studies
Seasonal themes are used to help the students begin to explore and understand the world around them.
Additional Skills
The students participate in specially selected activities to help develop both fine and gross motor skills. The program is also focused on helping the young learners develop necessary social and emotional skills.
Specials Classes
The students Art once per week, Music once per week, and are able to use the Gym twice per week.

Children will practice counting and number recognition 1-2, as well as positional words (front, back, middle, behind, in front of etc), AB, and ABC patterns, shapes, quantity (more, less), estimation, sorting by shape, size, and color.
